Warfare is nasty stuff: I ain't holding that against Obama at all. Things sometimes do go FUBAR. I do hope that lots of terrorists paid the ultimate price for our losses.

give obama credit for authorizing the mission. no plan ever survives first contact with the enemy. if they did then everything ever planned would have gone off without a hitch, and world history would be truly muddled now. when the israelies raided entebe, hostages died. when the germans tried to rescue the israeli athletes, nine died. any time hostages are put in the middle of two opposing forces, collateral damage is bound to happen.
Can you imagine the inevitable outcry if the news broke that Obama knew where the hostages were and didn't authorize a rescue mission? Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
