I mean, hell, even Colorado Springs would be OK if I were to be a closed-captioning typist in a call center there where the customers didn't have to see me and all I did for a living was type things for deaf people who DO appreciate it.
That is one place I want to be. I want to be in a place where I don't have to depend on one's opinion about me to get a job. It isn't a geographical place so much as a state of being. I want to be independent and do my own thing. I don't have the resources for that, so I have to look for work.

As for Colorado Springs, I really wouldn't mind living there as long as I have work. Actually, with the Rockies not being far away, I would be very happy. Snow, mountains, outdoor activities, sounds like something up my alley.

My aunt is from Louisiana, and she left Louisiana in the late 1960s. She eventually ended up in Minneapolis sometime in the 70s. She did good for herself, raised a family, had a good job in Minnesota.

Alot of the Africans who have moved to Minnesota are often refugees from Somalia, so that might also play a role.

I would agree that Nebraska should be on that list. Omaha has one of the poorest Black populations in the USA. Nebraska ranked #1 in Black murder rates in 2013. While Nebraska has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation, there is something to understand. While the White unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the nation, the Black unemployment rate in Nebraska is one of the highest in the nation. There is also a very high unemployment gap between Blacks and Whites, one of the highest in the nation. I won't lie. There are times I wonder if I, a Black man, might do alright in Nebraska considering the horrible stats for Blacks in that state.
I live in Minnesota and while Somalians are struggling academically and economically, so are many African Americans both academically, economically, but also with criminality. They don't call it murderapolis for nothing. Youth gangs are out of control here, ruining school districts as they spread to even more inner and middle ring suburbs. The achievement gap is one of the highest in the country thanks to our liberal welfare policies, encouraging poor women to have as many children as possible with the ridiculously generous programs (Minnesota child care is the most expensive in the country thanks to this).

Murderapolis? Maybe in the 1990s. However, today, Minnesota has one of the lowest Black murder rates in the nation. It had one of the highest, but it has been dropping. Minneapolis' murder rate has also been dropping as of the late 2000s. I live in the Atlanta area. While murder has been on the decline over the last 10 years, it is still more violent than Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Yes, there are some issues among members of the Black population in Minnesota. I never said that wasn't the case. However, this is what I am gathering from this post: Anger and resentment towards Blacks as a whole. I'm also noticing no mention of the Blacks who are actually trying to move up economically and seeking to do better.

I brought up that article from MPR because I wanted to show you the issues aren't as simple as everyone makes it out to be.

Almost everybody I work with is white and has had issues in their career with sh*tty management.

So best of luck with your search, it's a tough one.

Thanks. I'm currently have employment issues in general. I'm in Georgia, one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation(at one point last year, it was #1 for unemployment). I prefer to have my own business because then, I don't have to beg for work.

My internship was related to mapping. Mapping is one thing I'm into. I can't really say I'm a specialist because what I am educated in, I could do alot of things. However, mapping and things related to mapping is one expertise I have. One I may add, I better use before it becomes obsolete.

The way I see it, if all one wants to do is complain about Black people, then nothing will come out of it than that. If solutions are what is wanted, then constant complaining about Blacks as a whole won't work.
