Why?

And why not take the money set aside for those Christian symbols and buy even more meals for the poor?

You have to remember that no president has ever been elected President without declaring his faith in God and JFK went to visit the Southern Baptist leadership to personally assure them that basically the POPE would not over rule his decision as president.
Where does the Constitution state religions should be free to own tax-free properties that have nothing to do with the practice of that religion?

Its been posted and explained many times over. Most importantly, by the courts.

Would there be, with equal rights and access, allowances for non- Christian religion?

Would a court case, such as Windsor, which had a civil nature but an undercurrent of religion be determined by civil court?

If that decision favored for the civil nature and the Christian community objected would that court ruling stand or be turned over to a religious tribunal?

Would Jesus be shown as a white male, versus the real likelihood that he would have a darker complexion possibly even Saharan or Ethiopian in appearance?

Who would decide what version of Christianity-- I happen to like more of the Episcopal version--would be used?

My name is Thomas for a good reason, with Daniel as my middle name.

Really? The Constitution says a church should be free to own tax-free any number of investment properties having nothing to do with religion?

Tax the churches. All of them. Make provisions for tax exemptions for true charitable things like soup kitchens, but only if they don't involve forcing the people they feed to sit through evangelizing in order to eat. My guess is if that was a requirement, many churches would stop their charitable outreach altogether.

You must spend money on renovation, otherwise it will be ruined

How about churches, temples, etc decorate their own buildings and leave the ones that we all pay for alone?
