A clear case of insubordination. Fire the ring leader and discipline every single officer that turned their backs on their Commander-In-Chief. Upset that the Mayor took a different position on the Eric Garner case, police figured they'd get back at the Mayor by turning their backs on him.
Didn't these officers take an Oath to be subordinate and show the proper respect towards senior leadership and their Mayor as Commander-In-Chief?
he turned his back on them when he made an EMOTIONALLY CHARGED speech about Garner. He is the leader of the biggest city in our country and should be held accountable for what he says.

Oh...so the police department is trying to strong arm the Mayor into backing the police department in every corruption, wrongdoing and brutality case that comes up against them.
No. But they should be ashamed of themselves for not thinking for themselves or for being too stupid to realize that the mayor did not order the hit on two police officers. Why they feel like victims when someone calls another officer out for bad police work is beyond me.

No, just underlining the fact that he stands with those who insult, denigrate, and commit acts of violence against the police. Doing so adds fuel to the fires of racism and ignores the real epidemic of violence in our cities, which is the daily slaughter of young black men by other young black men.

There is nothing wrong with what the Mayor said. Period. The ones who turned their backs have some major attitude problems in regard to constructive criticism. Those same attitudes are what have hearts turned against them.
I'm not sure that there is any reasonable way to discipline them, however. What are "they" going to do - fire anyone who turned their backs? Can't do that.

And, we must add, that "constructive criticism" just got two of them killed. Justifiably, according to you?
Should the police just turn the other cheek in the face of the mayor's siding against them? Tell you what: ask New Yorkers whom they'd rather do without --- the cops or the mayor. I have a feeling the answer would surprise no one --- except possibly you...
