Wish I had thought of that excuse when I was in school.

As a white person, when I do something -- however outrageous -- my actions are never seen as being some sort of statement about white people as a whole. But somehow when a few black people do something outrageous, it's just one more opportunity for some of us to cry about how unreasonable black people are (or start threads like this one, suggesting the same thing). There seems to me to be no point to this thread except to give more people the opportunity to think how crazy and stupid black people are. WHY do we need yet another thread like this?

Again, for the record, I am white. I did, however, grow up with a black stepfather who was often appalled at what SOME black people did -- because he knew that people like those posting in this thread would paint him with the same brush instead of seeing him as the individual that he was. It's really, really unfair.

Because it wouldn't be C-D if the racism weren't so thick you had to cut it with a chain saw.

So this is an interesting story I just stumbled upon.
To break it down, students are requesting that their professors not fail a single minority this semester because of the recent protests and headlines.
Being on the front lines of civil movements is better education than a bunch of damn tests. I have no issue with it.

P.S. I don't believe that protesting gets you anywhere. If you want a change, sit down with lawyers and politicians and then you'll be making progress.
Protesting is stupid?

Ha! You need to do some more studying. Lawyers and politicians didn't get black people through the civil rights movement. Social change happens on the ground. Black people never had (and still don't have) political power.

Probably but when you make your choices you've got to live with the results.

It's not like they did not know their responsibilities. And that's the lesson to be learned.

Now, that I may support.
Why? They are pointless wars created by our corrupt government to spread our modern form of imperialism across the globe. Why the hell should I give them special treatment?

I'm pretty sure the students at Harvard Law that asked for extensions don't need a lecture from you on responsibility.

Like I said, being on the front lines of social movements is better education (and thesis material) than a damn test.

Sure they do in many Black dominated cities like Dallas, Atlanta, DC, Chicago, Detroit.

They just tend IMO to elect some pretty crappy Politicians. Many seem to steal from their own constitutes and only work on lining their own pockets.
