of working conditions, but when it comes to police in NYC, they should just "do the jobs the taxpayers pay them to do."

I mean, I know numerous instances where teachers protest and the left backs them. Those teachers aren't "doing the jobs the taxpayers pay them to do", but it seems to be different for the police. And yes, I know the role of police officer and teacher is different, but it's almost like police aren't even allowed to be disgruntled at their mayor. And add to that, the NYPD isn't even engaging in a formal protest anyway.

Stop calling it a protest. There were no fires, broken windows, stinking hippies, signs, profanity or fat people in SEIU T-Shirts.

I am fine with police protesting for whatever reason they feel the need to protest, though I think it is very shameful of them to protest at a funeral. Of course things like police and fire are safety positions, and that should be their first requirement and should always come first over things like protesting.

These guys aren't protesting unacceptable working conditions or contract violations or anything real, they're just pouting.
