There has been no scientific, statistically sound poll that has been conducted showing that 97% of either "all scientists" or "all climate scientists" support the AGW alarmism hypothesis. It does not exist.

And please do not try to put forward the study that sampled articles on climate change as a proxy for what either "all scientists" or "all climate scientists" believe. That study does not even purport to support the conclusion that you and the other environmental extremists claim that it does.

But of course if you can produce a scientific, statistically sound poll that has been conducted showing that 97% of either "all scientists" or "all climate scientists" support the AGW alarmism hypothesis, we would all like to see it.

But you cannot produce it, because it does not exist. Your 97% number is a complete, baseless falsehood, to say the least.

The Scientific Consensus on Climate Change

Quote:
Policy-makers and the media, particularly in the United States, frequently assert that climate science is highly uncertain
Quote:
In its most recent assessment, IPCC states unequivocally that the consensus of scientific opinion is that Earth's climate is being affected by human activities: “Human activities … are modifying the concentration of atmospheric constituents … that absorb or scatter radiant energy. …
Quote:
This analysis shows that scientists publishing in the peer-reviewed literature agree with IPCC, the National Academy of Sciences, and the public statements of their professional societies. Politicians, economists, journalists, and others may have the impression of confusion, disagreement, or discord among climate scientists, but that impression is incorrect.

No, it's not false. You wish it was though, because it contradicts what your denialist bloggers and clowns tell you you should believe. You guys keep making the same bad arguments, and you keep failing. Doesn't this get tiring?

Yo. This thread is for all the idiots to make fools of themselves denying Tyson's PHD or about how he makes jokes about christmas.

There are plenty of other threads to point out how stupid the climate change denialists are.

You are welcome to deny all the research out there that does show man has an effect on global warming. You disagreeing with that doesn't change the research.

I thought we are talking about your 97% figure. Since you are trying to change the subject, I will accept that to mean that you agree with me that this assertion by you and many others is a baseless falsehood.

Or, can you provide a link to a statistically sound poll done to back this number up?

{Answer: No you cannot, because it does not exist.}

Tyson is all class. Carl Sagan indeed.

A wise man knows that he doesn't know.

A wise man would also realize that Christianity and other religious practices are manifestations of some of the highest thought that the evolved human mind has ever produced. If we evolved so far that a literal God thought it appropriate to contact us and confer the wisdom, all the better. Whatever the case may be, denigrating religion, as a human scientist, is about the best example of incomplete thinking that I can come up with. Where does Tyson think we would be if Christian morality hadn't tamed the tribes thousands of years ago? He certainly wouldn't be in a place to laud the virtues of the science and scientists that only came to be because they were born into a civilization within which they could evolve. They were one step, standing on many necessary steps below them. Guess what? Those supporting moral steps are still just as needed now as they were at that time, whether atheists acknowledge it or not.

Sure he could have. There's myriad other things he could have said, he chose not to.

Unsubscribe from his tweets should they offend you. I'm sure there's some fundie or other whose tweets would satisfy you better.

I don't blame all christians because a couple have murdered doctors.

I can tell the difference between people who actually commit evil acts and those who don't.
