But, how many of those are voter approved? The issue here is that liberal judges have changed our marriage laws. The people have mostly voted against gay marriage, but liberals changed the laws on their own. Most citizens consider gays/gay rights to be an old tired story that just won't go away. So, go ahead and get married, and then get divorced. Just stop playing the victim... nobody is buying it anymore.
Until gay marriage is legal in this entire country, gays are the victims of discrimination. Why does it bother you if gays are allowed to marry each other? Is someone forcing you to marry someone of the same sex?

It is never enough is it? The real issue here is that gays want acceptance. They want society to endorse their sinful behavior so that they can keep on living the same way. We don't care if you're gay, just stop rubbing it our face!

Are gay couples having sex in front of you? What do you consider "rubbing it in our face"?
Voters don't have the authority to vote on other people's civil rights.

Liberal judges? You do realize numerous federal judges who have struck down these anti-gay marriage laws have been Conservative Republicans right? Including the guy who started this all with striking down Prop 8 in California.
I've been saying this all along. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage, it will provide the GOP with political cover. This is sure to bring relief to the more moderate wing who no longer needs to appeal to the far-right on this issue in primaries.
hmm, I think GOP's biggest challenge is to find a strategy to attract independent-minded young people. GOP has to make itself the party of ideas again.

Fear not. The decision to allow SSM will be met with a barrage of Republican state bills attempting to "protect the practice of religion" - i.e. to discriminate against gay people. National candidates will be proposing similar things. Republicans are not going to take this lying down.
A Christie or Walker type who are against gay marriage, but don't actively fight it, probably wouldn't have much of a problem with moderates on the issue. A Huckabee/ Santorum/Perry/Cruz type absolutely will.
I don't think so. Support for gay marriage is declining and I think it is a result of the activist judges forcing the issue.
But the poll was also remarkable for showing a rather dramatic drop in support for gay marriage in one year, after years of uninterrupted rises. Overall support for gay marriage dropped from 54 percent to 49 percent.
Coming to think of it being opposed to it might not be such a bad idea.
