Correct, you did not say rash of them. It was an obvious exaggeration to go along with your exaggerated point "that people are being conditioned to accept any excuse or reason to accept travel bans." How many "travel bans" have you seen in the past year and how many of those were outside of some sort of potential emergency?

The number isn't important, the number of people affected is and that counts goes into the millions. And entire city was shut down with penalties for disobedience. Millions were forced to not travel. Things always start slowly and there are always those that claim its nothing... in the beginning.

they can only go based on info they were GIVEN by so called "weather experts".

it might interest those who have no idea to know that many people have died on roads during blizzards in NY and NJ and that's why they took those measures. People drive around and clog up roads when they break down and then plows can't get through. The NY metro area has several million people. It's not exactly = to a blizzard in other parts of the country.

60 million is the # that were impacted by the last storm.

Eastern CT got 33" of snow, and is under 75 miles from NYC. LOng Island got 2 plus feet.

We got lucky the city was spared. 2-3 ft, 8 million people..a bad mix.

It's hard for people to react properly, maybe due to disbelief, when there is a REAL threat of disaster.

You have so many people and news outlets pumping bombastic headlines....people just get numb and many time do not believe the noise.

The number certainly is important if you claim people are being conditioned. Conditioned = trained. Certainly you wouldn't suggest a puppy is trained or being trained because someone told it to sit once.

So you believe that this will be the only time? What do puppies have to do with this. Straw man argument.

I don't know if it will be the only time. You said people are being conditioned to accept a travel ban for any reason, yet you can't point to any examples and certainly not any for any other reason.

The puppy part was an analogy not a strawman.

You're damned if you don't and damned if you do. Honestly I would rather they be overly prepared and it be a bust then not prepare and be a disaster. Case in point, Katrina... better safe than sorry!
