Obama's tax cuts target parents, families with 2 incomes

Obama's proposed tax cuts would benefit households with two wage earners, families with young children in child care and those with older children in college.
One proposal would automatically enroll workers in individual retirement accounts, unless they opt out. Another would extend the Earned Income Tax Credit to low-wage workers without children.

Middle-income families that don't fit these categories won't see many changes in their taxes, according to an analysis by the Tax Policy Center, a research group formed by the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution.

This budget is disgusting. As usual, he is picking and choosing those that he favors and screw everyone else.

Among the bottom 20 percent — families with incomes averaging $15,600 — nearly a third would get tax cuts averaging $617. The rest would see little or no change in their taxes.

This is our left wing commie media at work: AS IF the bottom 20% even pays any income taxes!!! It is dishonest to say that they would be given a TAX CUT, where NO tax is paid at all.

— Triple the child care tax credit — to a maximum of $3,000 per child — and make the full credit available to families with incomes up to $120,000. Families with higher incomes could get a reduced credit. Cost: $50 billion over 10 years.

$120,000/year is RICH in some parts of this country. There is more to dislike about Obama with every passing day.

I think both tax cuts and spending bills need to be paid for. Our deficit is about to going up significantly again. We need to leave taxes as they are and freeze spending.

I would prefer cutting taxes and cutting spending but I am skeptical of that ever happening.

Those that he favors? You make it sound like these are his personal friends. It's extremely rare for changes in tax code to affect everyone equally. I can't believe you are complaining about a tax cut. Are you a leftist?

So Obama is for a tax cut, so that means tax cuts are now bad? Or does it mean this specific tax cut won't affect the OP so it must be bad?

LOL. They were considered as such by Obama when they were called the "Bush Tax Cuts". Obviously he is pandering to a certain demographic just as Bush did.

It's ridiculous to give a "tax cut" to those who pay ZERO income tax. What is possibly wrong with giving EVERY worker (who pays fed income tax) a break? These are the people who actually pay the bills, not the welfare derilects, legs open breeders, minimum wage workers, etc. I don't even have a problem with those in the upper income percentages (excl Wall St trash and trustafarians) getting their equal cut either. There is too much favoritism in these proposed tax cuts, which won't pass by the way . Obama is a thief, pure and simple.

Yet the left didn't question him on the same thoughts.

The idiot actually wanted to do away with the child tax credit. Now he wants to selectively increase it.

This fool is cherry picking tax cuts. You can have one but not you. So once again he is promoting class warfare.
