Apart from the obvious (such as the first black president and ObamaCare), I think that he will be remembered most for the fact that he pushed the Democratic Party far to the left and brought the party back to where it was before Bill Clinton. He will also be remembered for ushering in the era of identity politics.
Whether he is remembered favorably or not depends upon what happens in the aftermath of his presidency. If the GOP wins in 2016, the Obama Era will come to an end, and--at least in the short-term--his legacy will take a big hit. However, his long-term legacy will actually be enhanced if a recession or foreign crisis occurs in between Jan. 2017 and Jan. 2021. (Although the seeds of the crisis may very well have been planted during the Obama years, the GOP president will no doubt get blamed.) On the other hand, if Hillary wins in 2016, Obama (at that moment) will be seen to have built a permanent Democratic coalition. But that coalition will only last until a crisis brings down a Democratic president. If the house of cards collapses during Hillary's first term (as I believe it will, because the chickens will come home to roost as a result of his dangerous foreign policies and the unsustainable largesse of ObamaCare), a civil war will erupt within the Democratic Party. While Hillary will be blamed more than Obama for any economic collapse or foreign crisis, Obama's legacy will also be greatly tarnished, because the Clintons (and their wing of the Democratic Party) will not go down without a fight (and will thus blame their problems on Obama). The best analogy I can think of deals with how the Great Depression affected both Herbert Hoover and Calvin Coolidge; even though the public blamed Hoover for the Depression, Coolidge's legacy was in tatters, despite the fact that--back in 1928--it looked as if he built a permanent Republican coalition.
After saving many American lives for withdrawing our troops from this elusive victory in Iraq where many soldiers were being killed on daily basis? You want another Bush to start another war ,spend billions for NO "VICTORY ACCOMPLISHED" ? Just asking !
He withdrew the troops on the schedule that Bush put in place, how typical of a Obama sycophant to ignore the thousands of troops Obama has gotten killed in Afghanistan - far more than died there under Bush. As usual troops sacrificed by your president don't count, the media stopped their daily body counts the moment Obama was elected. What has the trillions of dollars and thousands of lives spent by Obama bought us? Nothing - but you're clearly Ok with that.
