Iraqi Kurds call for foreign ground troops in anti-IS fight
A senior Iraqi Kurdish official on Wednesday called for greater support in the battle against the Islamic State group, including with foreign troops, saying the Kurds are "alone" in the fight.

Thought this was interesting:

Quote:
Fouad Hussein, chief of staff to Kurdish President Massoud Barzani, said the U.S.-led coalition airstrikes are helpful but "to finish ISIS ... you need to finish it on the ground. And on the ground, we are most of the time alone. So we need partners."
Ehhh....NO! Thanks, but no thanks.

Interestingly enough, Iraq's PM says they need additional help too, but keeps insisting that he doesn't want foreign troops on their soil.

Good...neither do I...well, not U.S. troops anyway.

Well considering we are to blame for the current situations maybe we should clean up the mess.

We're already fighting ISIS in Iraq. It will just be a matter of time before we send "advisors" there too and then read of ground battles.

I agree. We made the mess the ME is in today.
Every country we invaded in the name of "Democracy" is worse off today then before we invaded (or funded an invasion).

I respect the Kurds (as a whole); they are among the few in the ME I'll say that about. Just the same, not our country, not our problem. Not worth the life of an American serviceman to do the fighting for them.

As though we would get it right this time.

No need to throw good money (and blood) after bad.

I think we're setting up a pretext to go into Syria.

I don't support it... but by know I know that that doesn't matter. They didn't ask me what I think about it!

Saw Michael Morell, former Deputy CIA , on the news this evening. He said we need to put at least 100,000 troops on the ground to make a dent.
