No, it is the opposite. It the decision of a mature person, not a child who wants to call names.

Would it be better for him to rant and rave about Islam?

Yep, potentially causing almost two billion people to develop bad feelings about America would certainly be the better choice.

Some people still just don't get it. Not everyone in America is white and Christian. There are many different races and religions living here. Did you not notice that? Obama or any other president represents ALL Americans, not just the ones who look, think, and act like YOU! We have moved on from the 1600s.

Separation of church and state. An excellent idea. It really doesn't matter what the religion of murderers is, unless you think every murderer, rapist, robber, etc., should be identified by his or her religion. Good luck with that.

Be careful what you wish for.

Yes, exactly. He represents all Americans, even the Islamic ones.

If he starts slamming Muslims, it's quite likely he'll push some global malcontent fence sitters off said structure and onto the side of ISIS. There's no need to encourage further volunteers to their ranks.

I'm starting to come around to the Logic of not applying Religion to it, but it really isn't a 'Christian' Presidents place to say who is or isn't Muslim. I'll listen to actual Muslims for that.

Your right, and if this is not obvious to most people, they are the problem. He does not mind one friggin bit, pointing fingers at Christians. But seems to go to bat for Muslims, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Fair and Bias, don't think so.

From his viewpoint he may view Islam as part of his heritage and Identity, even though his Father abandoned him. It therefore needs to be protected from American Society at large.

Not true, the radical religious extremist killed more Muslims than Christians, Atheist or others, that's a fact !!

All religions should be demonized. Christians, back in the day, were significantly worse than Muslims are now. I tend to be willing to defend Islam when it comes down to it because I think the idea of looking as Islam as being somehow 'different' from other religions is intellectually dishonest. It wasn't long ago when Christians were cutting off hands, killing infidels, and marrying off children. To act as if Islam is somehow unique in this is the equivalent of lying.

Radical Islam needs to be stopped, but it's not that hard to understand why Obama is reluctant to shine a light on the Islam itself. Put yourself in the presidents shoes; it makes a lot of sense. Conservatives already blindly hate him, and liberals won't take to kindly to him calling out Islam. If he does that, he'll be out of friends which in his line of work is very bad thing.
Agree !!

When muslims are attacked, the current resident at 1600 never fails to mention islam.

When Christians are attacked, he gets amnesia.
