Why not a bullet? It is cheaper.

Overdose of heroin or some other narcotic, problem solved.

I'd take the guillotine anyday. I wonder if you are aware for a short time afterward. Your head is in the basket and your staring at the blood pumping out of your kneck.

I don't know, a bullet may not always be 100% effective and messy.

From some reading, apparently it is not a 100% chance to kill, and often does not kill immediately with people hanging on up to 72 hours before full respiratory paralysis kicks in.

You people are mean.

Why not just use the State of Oregon suicide pill?

Almost all assisted suicides take place in the home, with at least one health-care worker present. The patient takes one of two kinds of barbiturates. Seconal costs about $125 for a lethal 10 gram dose, which comes in the form of 100 individual caplets that must be broken apart to produce about three tablespoons of powder. Nembutal comes in a more convenient liquid form. It costs more than $1,000 for a dose, though, and insurance almost never covers lethal drugs.

Life, and death, should be simple.

Christ, how about a .22 to the head. Ãœber cost effective even today when ammo cost is high and .22 ammo limited. The dead guy isn't going to know the difference. If that isn't fast enough we can amp it up to .38 or 9mm. If all else fails and some liberal thinks its "inhumane" to the guy on death row for committing crimes much, much worse, a 12 gauge to the head but, that could get messy and take too much bounty and 409 afterwards thus running up cost on the taxpayers. Couple that with the tampons we would have to distribute to the liberal protesters outside the fence. I'll spring for the first box but, I'm NOT getting in line to buy them at a drug store!

Shoot them, be done with them. Cardboard box or incineration is next. Their choice. They say its no deterrent but, I beg to differ so let's try that for ten or twenty years and see? If I'm wrong, we'll go back to chemicals.

Fair enough?

I believe they apply three rifle rounds simultaneously to the heart.
Pretty effective, but definitely messy.

How do you know you're not still aware and in pain for several minutes when your head has been detached?

The guillotine had a 100% success rate. It is quick, to the best of our knowledge painless, and effective. And environmentally friendly! What's wrong with it?
