They're often the smartest people in the room.

And what the better ones do does not improve our efficiency, they don't make new products, they don't truly add to the productivity of our country. They just move money around. They are one of the most personally profitable jobs to get. And the people who would otherwise go into science, technology, or engineering are choosing to go where the money is.

They are quite literally slowing down our economy by not participating in fields that would be less rewarding for them, and more rewarding for all of us. And what else would you expect? We need to find some way to change this dynamic, to make the science, and research jobs more rewarding.

No, they have the best paying post elected office careers available to people with no real discernible skills outside of knowing where to find the offices of the party leaders.

No, we need to make it so that fewer are able to move money around by not handing them as much.

It's odd how many times that people who chime in with stuff like this never actually counter the things said.

If you're smart, do you go into software engineering, or do you go into banking?

If you're smart, and love software engineering do you specialize in being a software engineering quant? IE if you love to code, and you want money....make automated software that trades.

Not the next google, not self driving cars, not anything truly helpful.....

Shrug. That works too, but I figured that would bring out the right wing, and sound like a troll post if I started off that way.

Most who go into banking don't make a lot of money. It's the "investment" bankers that make the money and they wouldn't if the government would quit feeding them.

In the end any differences between us are technical.

The "Banksters" don't have bombs, they don't chant "Death to America" every Friday.

The latest IG Report on the Social Security Administration shows that 6.5 MILLION Social Security numbers are active for people born before June 16, 1901

G Audit: 6.5 Million People With Active Social Security Numbers Are 112 or Older
March 9, 2015 - 10:39 AM

"During Calendar Years 2008 through 2011, SSA received 4,024 E-Verify inquiries using the SSNs of 3,873 numberholders born before June 16, 1901," the report said. "These inquiries indicate individuals' attempts to use the SSNs to apply for work."

“It is incredible that the Social Security Administration in 2015 does not have the technical sophistication to ensure that people they know to be deceased are actually noted as dead,” said Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

“Tens of thousands of these numbers are currently being used to report wages to the Social Security Administration and to the IRS. People are fraudulently, but successfully, applying for jobs and benefits with these numbers.

Go Team - See the Squirrel ...... it's the Evil Banksters, its the Evil RICH, it's the Evil BushCheneyHitler.

How about checking out the TOTAL Incompetence of the Federal Government???
Is that just too hard? We have 6.5 MILLION Social Security Numbers that are being used by Illegal Aliens and Fraudsters that are for people who would be at least 112 years old.

Wake-Up America .......... we have a multitude of problems and the "banksters" are not very high on the list, BUT they DO make a great Squirrel for the Leftists.

Yes they did. They cried that if they were not bailed out of their mistakes that the entire system would come crashing down causes incomparable pain and suffering for millions.

It was incompetent to bail them out. But this thread isn't about that.

Odd that it was once the "right", "Conservatives" whatever you want to call them that were against the government printing debt.

The conservatives are still against that, but the R's in charge are not even close to being conservative these days. It's all about the power and the money.

A collapse would harm a lot of people, but if the banksters really bring it all down, they can eat their F**** money. See how that works for them.
