in order to create an environment of inclusiveness. Note that I was FAIR and mentioned that ALL flags were banned.

Still, this is the future of the Democrat Party people:

Written by student Matthew Guevara of the School of Social Ecology, the resolution states: "The American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism" and notes that flags "construct paradigms of conformity and sets homogenized standards."

It looks like it will probably be vetoed, it sounds like the student government there is practicing government skills that a free country enjoys.

6 students voted for this. 6. The article is pretty clear it's not going anywhere.
Young social justice warriors don't have the life experience or fully formed brains to know what they are doing most of the time. They like bandwagons though.

I wonder how many of these students are taking loans from the oppressive, imperialistic American government.

LAME!

And this is lame, too:

The resolution goes on to say that "freedom of speech, in a space that aims to
be as inclusive as possible, can be interpreted as hate speech."

So a student government vote by a handful of students at a school where 50% of the students are Asian (they're the ones who ace their SATs) and a good chunk of the rest are the sons and daughters of the local Republican elite tell you the future of the Democratic Party. So you're psychic. Excellent.... please tell us the winning numbers of the next Powerball. Thanks.

If students wanna do this at THEIR school, why should I lose sleep?

Attend Ole Miss if traditional patriotic values are so important to you.

Why is this news worthy?

What? Huh? Im confused ... exactly who have we colonized? What colonies? What imperialism? Where? We have an empire?

US territories don't count, they are not colonies. They have the right to self determination. They are freely and voluntarily under US sovereignty. They can vote for independence at any time and we will work out a path to independence, they can vote for statehood at any time and we will work out a path to incorporation an eventual statehood, they can vote to retain the existing territorial status and that is fine. A colony does not have the right choose it's status.

This is a public college on public property ... they are required by law to display both the US flag, the California flag, and perhaps the college/university flag as well. Also, how many of these bimbos are receiving Pell grants and other federal student assistance from the so called "imperialist nation"? Talk about double standard
