Event "A" is illegal, repulsive, stupid, violent and produced severe physical injuries to a woman.

Event "B" is legal, repulsive and stupid and produced no physical injuries to anyone.

Guess which one received the most severe sentence from the University? Yes, event "B".

This is repulsive hypocrisy at it's finest.

University of Oklahoma President David Boren expelled two students for racist chanting, ostensibly because the school has an unofficial zero tolerance policy on racism. But Boren had plenty of tolerance for OU football players who committed violence against women and were allowed, not merely to remain at the university, but also to rejoin the football team.

The lesson in this is that football players can get away with a lot more than other students can. Did you not notice or learn that in high school?

Life is full of things like this. This is not hypocrisy, it is discrimination. It's not fair, but it's real. I hope you oppose all discrimination and not just the ones that don't suit your biases.

That's sad but true.

What biases would that be?

No, it's hypocrisy and I do not oppose all discrimination.

1. an act or instance of discriminating, or of making a distinction.

2. treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit:
racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

3. the power of making fine distinctions; discriminating judgment: She chose the colors with great discrimination.

Thank you for putting forth the bulletproof logic that a person can commit any heinous acts with a clear conscience as long as there is someone somewhere doing something just as heinous or worse.

Football players bring in money, and therefore can get away with certain things. And they can keep a sex abuse scandal quite without too much effort.

Racist chants however draw attention and since most universities try and create the idea that they support diversity, having things like that will damage their public image. Which can mean a loss of money.

The common denominator here is money.

I'm not sure who you are thanking. I've seen nothing on this tread that even resembles your post. Please point out what you are objecting to.
