How about no jobs and flooding the labor market with illegals. Yup, that's it! Wait until the illegals start taking Union jobs !!

Wouldn't matter, they'll still make more money here and send their money home so they can retire at 50, it's why the US isn't full of old illegals, they go home and retire with the money they made here.

Huge amounts of illegal Guatemalans here in lower DE, they do most of the home building, landscaping, painting, etc..., in the area, just no old ones since American money goes far in their homeland.

As explained below, these choices fall into five broad categories: the abandonment of full employment as a main objective of economic policymaking, declining union density, various labor market policies and business practices, policies that have allowed CEOs and finance executives to capture ever larger shares of economic growth, and globalization policies. Collectively, these policy decisions have shifted economic power away from low- and middle-wage workers and toward corporate owners and managers.

This has been our economic policy for the last couple decades and outside of one item it's also the one the Obama administration has pursued.

The Unions refused to leave their heydays of the 50's and 60's and have done most of the damage to themselves.

So, that being the case, what is the answer?

Again, I could be wrong and it's very hard to impossible to really figure out what is going on definitively, but it seems to me what we're seeing is more and more capital being allocated to (global-scale) low wage workers, giving them and the capital holders higher return and leaving us working for a living in the first world with both less bargaining power and less capital stock to work with.
Technology and the changes to manufacturing have pushed out a good part of the work force. There are jobs but people don't have the background or education to easily more into those areas.
