The question isn't "do American cops shoot more people than their European counterparts", it's "how many countries and how many years do you need to combine for the European death count to match America's from LAST YEAR."
We hear that all the deaths in America by cop are due to cops justifiably protecting themselves from imminent death, that the only way that cops have to deal with these unruly punchers, runners, and mentally ill folks is to shoot them.
So this begs the question - why are American cops so much better at staying alive than their European counterparts? With all the non-killing that those Euro cops do, they must be dying by the truckload.
I've seen Europeans -- they have arms and hands to attack with, they have legs to run with, they have mentals that can be illed, yet they aren't dying at anywhere near the rate of American civilians.
So what's the reason the America has so many more cop shootings than other comparable countries?
Other, as in "I do not care about what happens in Europe. It is a mix of entirely different cultures, and has no direct relationship to the people of the United States!"

The preference for a culture of violence and brutishness among significant portions of one of the major political parties. While most civilized nations bicker internally about how best to achieve progress toward advancing civilization, the United States has a strong contingent actively in support of reactionaryism and regressiveness.

Look at the US homicide rate in general. If it were roughly the same as Europe you would have a point.
US cops are up against criminals that are typically more violent, better armed etc. and act accordingly.
So I assume you mean literally better armed. As in, Americans have better biceps, triceps, grip, etc. B/c American cops have killed more UNARMED people than all of Europe combined.
Or maybe you mean that Americans have better access to kitchen knives, wallets, and toy guns than Europe, since again American cops kill more people holding non-lethal objects than all of Europe combined.
Or maybe there are undeveloped mental powers in the American mentally ill that leads to them being more threatening and dangerous than the European mentally ill, since American cops kill more diagnosed mentally-ill people than all of Europe combined.

If you want to have real adult discussion then stop making silly statements and strawman arguments and we can go over the reasons.
The overall rate of death by firearms in the US vs. all of Europe is hardly inconsequential in this matter. Unless one believes Americans are simply more suicidal and homicidal and accident prone than Europeans.

OK. Let's start with unarmed deaths. I have to believe that there's no difference in the strength or "threat" of someone who's unarmed in America vs Europe. What leads to American cops using lethal force more than European ones?
