Those people do not even support their government. Yet here he is siding with the Iranian government.
This stupid fool says since the Iran leaders vowed not to develope a nuclear weapon, why are we even negotiating? What the hell are we even talking to them for if this moron takes them at their word? He talks as if we are allied with the Iranian government now.
If it ratchets down the tension and leads to credible inspections of the nuclear sites it will be more than any other diplomat has accomplished in the last 15 years. I do not care what he has to say to achieve progress. It is called diplomacy. Sanctions have not been working. They are only delaying the inevitable.
We should be hoping for the best, not hoping for failure. The stakes are pretty high.

We ARE now "allied" with the Iranian government and that's a big part of the issue. We are a Jr Partner.
As for his plea to the Iranian people - these people live in a Totalitarian Theocracy and Obama appears to not have a clue that the "Iranian people" have exactly zero say in what the Mullahs decide about anything. He slept through the Green Wave Revolution and sat on his thumb while people were slaughtered in the streets over a Corrupt Election.
In todays news about Iran - A Human Rights monitor with the United Nations says:
In addition to the increase in death sentences, authorities continue to crackdown on criticism of the state, and those “who publicly deviate from officially sanctioned narratives,†Ahmed Shaheed, special rapporteur on human rights in Iran, said according to the New York Times.
The Islamic republic has one of the highest rates of execution in the world. The number of death sentences carried out in the country apparently increased since Rowhani took office in 2013, Newsweek reported.
It's certainly not that the USA and Obama are unaware of the horrors that any disagreement with the Mullahs can bring to Iranian citizens - U.S. renews concerns over number of Iran executions, it just doesn't figure into their Political Ambition of the Great DEAL. You can (and are) executed in Iran for disagreeing with the Government or for belonging to a political organization that the Islamic leadership disagrees with.
I agree - there is something wrong with a President that insists on an alliance with these butchers while pushing our allies away. Obama is still saying he won't release details of his DEAL - they are now saying it will be deemed "classified" so they can avoid letting the American people and the World know what he is doing behind our backs in secret.
Very scary times we live in.

And here is the irony of it all. He declared Venezuela a national security threat over their human rights violations by the government.

You really think Obama lying to Iran and America is diplomacy? Oh, wait, lying is the foundation of Obama's presidency.
His wink-wink to Iran is him selling out America and Israel to get what he wants and, in this case, he thinks that an agreement with Iran, at whatever cost, will be a winner for his international policy legacy. He knows that everything he has done for the past 6 years on an international level have been complete failures. We have lost the support of allies due to his incompetence. I'm sure in his little world he sees Iran becoming an ally to the US.
