Good grief, what babies. People who have to run to a room to blow bubbles because someone presents different ideas should never be allowed out into the real world.
I'm as liberal a person as you will ever find and I truly believe in meeting the needs of people who have been the victims of violent crimes.
However, the people who change things in our culture are strong, brave fighters, not people who need to run to the safe room to be coddled when things get tough. We just marked the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Pettus Bridge crossing in Selma, Alabama. I think it's safe to say that the people who were beaten that day recovered from their injuries and came back fighting even harder. They brought about real change.
If victims of violence can't stand to be an a room with someone who's going to challenge their views, then nothing will ever change. They're going to be victims their entire lives and certainly aren't creating a safer environment for their younger sisters.
I wonder if there is a panic button for whenever a cisgender white male oppressor enters.
