A tiny fraction of the number of people who will be SAVED because guns are in the hands of law abiding citizens. Keep refusing to tell yourself that.

Sure I will.

I will tell myself that everytime I see a good guy with a gun, take out a bad guy with a gun.

I read both articles that were linked, and in each case it was a ordinary citizen who was carrying conceal, who opened fire on a armed robber; either in protection of themselves or self defense of another person’s life. I don't see a problem at all with these peoples actions. And I certainly don't see these people as hot heads.

I wish there was a way to scan the net for any homicides that happen today, and of those I would like to see if a firearm was used was it a couple of thugs in the hood that couldn't share their potatoe chips, and we know they aren't legal firearms owners or was it a Lawyer that shot someone in a road rage accident, or some negligent gun owner that shoots themself. I think you would be surprised how wrong you are. Your fear is showing...

It's irrelevant since it's such a rare event.

37% of Americans own a gun ( A minority of Americans own guns, but just how many is unclear | Pew Research Center ). There are 320 million Americans. So 118 million people in the US own guns. We'll call it 100 million.

If each gun owner were to be use a gun to kill someone once every 100 years, there would be 2739 people killed every day. If each gun owner were to be use a gun to kill someone every 1,000 years, that would be 273 people killed each day. Since we lose 30 people per day to gun violence ( In 2013, the US lost 30 people a day to gun violence. Obama shouldn't let us forget | Ana Marie Cox | Comment is free | The Guardian ), that would mean statistically, I would average killing someone every 10,000 years.

I'd say it's rare.

Are you talking gang members? Or are you lumping all guns owners into your kettle?
