The "religious freedom" debate in Indiana and other states recently has shown there is a wide gap between economic and social conservatives on the issues of gay rights and what the meaning of "business friendly" is. With corporate America now overwhelmingly in favor of gay rights can the Republican coalition of economic and social conservatives hold? Could there be a revolt of social conservatives against big business and could this have any impact in 2016?

The problem that the conservatives have is that without the literally unholy alliance of religious reactionaries and self-centered money-grubbers there aren't enough voters to overcome the Democrats together with the left-leaning portion of the independents.

'Economic conservatives' are very skeptical of big business.

If you are thinking the owned politicians in the Republican party are conservatives, you're wrong. They are globalist progressives.

No, most people are able to agree on some things and disagree on others without taking their ball and going home. That actually used to be how politics worked when it did work. The lock-step, partisan mentality is crippling the country.

Big Business is firmly in the pocket of the Dems, so I see no changes coming.
