Why does the government punish people like me? Why does it instead reward people who don't work or who spend more than they make?

You're not:

a) wealthy
b) influential
c) closely related to anyone who is

We little people are the ones to bear the burdens, while the gummint dances to the tune played by the billionaires.

Because statists are tyrants at heart. Statists dream up new laws and regulations all day long "for your own good" and are filled with dread at the thought of people having ownership over their own lives. My gods you might use your freedom to make bad choices like hurting someone's feelings, or smoking, or perhaps even do drugs! They cannot let that happen so they invent ways to control almost every aspect of your life.

Millions upon millions of people are fine with this and want the government to be their mommy, daddy, protector, and guardian. They continually vote for Republicans and Democrats who promise to run their lives for them so they are freed from the terrible burden of self ownership and freedom. Because more people love security than love freedom we're all stuck having our lives micromanaged by our Nanny in Washington D.C.

Sorry, just assumed reading comprehension would understand the conversation was pointed at adults...children are the responsibility of their parents. Though everyone knew that.

Not debating human nature. Most peoples human nature has being broke sucking. A % of the people getting handouts are the sort you are concerned about-IE the slackers. I think those people suck, just as you do. But I don't think those are the majority. They are a portion of the group however. We're not debating our mutual dislike of them, we're debating if they are the "majority"/. A point you intentionally avoided discussing in your response when challenged on it.

They do seem to miss that point a lot. But I have to kind of take their side. I don't think the vast majority are being represented by their government anymore. The Koch brothers have a larger say then the majority of citizens at this point....

The Koch Brothers... really?? Do you know how many left leaning groups are buckets of money ahead of the Koch Brothers?

Koch Brothers - $10.7 million - 100% (R)

Fahr LLC - $75.3 million - 100% (D)
Act Blue - $65.6 million - 100% (D)
Nat'l Education Assoc. - $29.4 million - 100% (D)

Those are the top three donors by organization. The top EIGHT contributors at minimum gave 95% to the Deomcrats. Koch Brothers are #14 on the list.

None.

Yes I know, you will trot out the false spending chart that shows that others have spent up to 220 million or so last election, while ignoring the FACT that the Koch brothers spent twice that amount in dark money last year, and are scheduled to spend almost a billion this next election cycle.

Its a foolish way to ignore reality.

Dark money? You know how we operate here... PROOF? And if you do have proof - it would be hard to image all of these left leaning groups not giving in this manner as well.

Wait - look at what you just said... Koch spent twice of what I mentioned - so now that's around $21 million you claim they spend... and then you went from that to almost a BILLION. Do you understand how much of a jump in donations that is?? I call total BS on that.

Also - doubling the Koch Brothers money only moves them up to #7 on the list.

Amen.

Guess who got hurt during the housing crisis with all these subprime loans? The honest person who didnt buy a house they couldn't afford. Those people now have lost their interest in their interest bearing money market accounts as well as their bank accounts because the govt had to print up money because of people who bought houses who couldn't really afford them.
