Probably the most entertaining sound-bite I'd seen from an MSNBC talk-show in a while. This Ed Schultz guy is actually one of the best they got over there imo... he shows some energy now and then. He is less predictable which MSNBC desperately needs.
Sometimes Schulz gets into a sort of folksy populist shtick that's fairly agreeable but then it's just a matter of time before he goes off the deep end and makes some kind of gratuitous personal attack on someone who had no beef with him (i.e. Laura Ingraham).
Translation: The type of audience MSNBC caters to likely gets their news off the internet and are working during the day while Fox's audience is retired with not much to do and can't figure out basic news searches on the internet.
How many times do people want to hear someone accuse someone else of racism, homophobia, bigotry, whatever? Which is what left-wing political analysis consists of these days. I know that for some people that's like sex, but not for most people.
I watched MSNBC when Chris Jansen had her show and Thomas Roberts was on later. Those were the only shows I watched so I don't watch it at all now. And what I really don't like is how some of these so called news people are also on the Today show being all silly and stupid.
You have to remember that Schultz was a conservative talk radio host that was going nowhere, or at least he wasn't as successful as he felt he should be in that highly competitive circle. So he sold out and went to the left seeing it had far more opportunity to anybody that showed even a modest level of ability. That's how sparse the competition was. And while guys like Limbaugh and Oreilly and Hannity got obscene money and ratings, he was a second stringer working with a bunch of who he felt were lessers. You'd be angry and resentful, too. That's why he lashes out.
Michael Smerconish did the same thing but was never really accepted by the left, he was just too narcissistic to see that he was so obviously selling out and everyone knew it. You're either lock step unquestioningly far left, or you're the enemy. Now he's merely tolerated by the left and is shunned by the right and has to try to convince anybody who will listen to him that he's in the middle. MSNBC, CNN, Sirius, he's pushed himself further into the fringe.
Don't they though?! I see alot of them commenting on Fox News facebook. And they even created a website Right Wing Watch with people dedicated to watching Fox and Christian broadcasting programs to supposedly "expose" them. Lol. I guess Fox and networks like CBN can thank them for the views and influence. Money right into their pockets. I love it!
Average age of a Faux Snooze viewer is like 65 retirement age so they are able to watch 3 to 5 hrs a day since day time tv sucks. People who work 8 to 9 hr days when they come home and turn on the tv they are not going to watch cable news only when there is a breaking new story or 2 months before a presidential election that is when MSNBC rating up up like 305 to 40%
