Except they are, most blue states are seeing anti gun laws being proposed and sometimes passed by democrats. You have to look at the state level, the dems don't have the juice at the federal level.
It is amazing how compromise only goes one way and how the same group keeps asking for compromises every year.
O'Malley and his fellow dems ran Beretta manufacturing out of MD.
That place was a beacon in the darkness of a blue hell.
The problem here is you seem to be under the impression the Constitution is federal law. It's not, its the law above all laws that all government entities need to adhere too.
And you take it to mean that someone says that the constitution is not a federal document? Thats just wrong.
Nothing in that indicates that the constitution is not a federal document. Its a federal document, AND a law above all laws.
For example-the federal government passes a law that says all children who are left handed can no longer speak in public about their religion, as everyone knows left handed people are satans helpers.
And bye bye Constitution, you get rid of the Federal Government, you get rid of the Constitution. Apparently they didn't teach that to you in school.
Not necessarily, the Constitution is an agreement between the States and it would be left to States to enforce the law of the land assuming the rest of it was left intact. As far as gun rights go there is no ambiguity in the Pennsylvania constitution which predates the US Constitution.
Quote:
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defence of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
1776 version: That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the state; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; And that the military should be kept under strict subordination, to, and governed by, the civil power.
Well, if you are reading posts from other people on here, some seem to think it isn't a federal document.
Only in the sense that it empowers the federal government and binds the states, that power has been granted by the states. It's basically a contract and it can be changed or broken by a super majority without any input from the federal government, ultimately the real power in the US lies with the states.
I find these developments completely annoying and disgusting!
I'm from Idaho...we're supposed to be the most libertarian, pro gun state in the nation and our legislators are dragging their feet on constitutional carry.
Kansas is the next state in an ever growing group that is ditching government approval required to allow someone to exercise the most basic human right of self defense. The governor has pledged to sign a bill nixing their permit system and allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons.
Of course the "blood in the streets" detractors will start with the same talking points even when unfounded in other states that have passed similar legislation.
Another win for freedom and another win for the American people!
The illegals here in California have no problem doing that
And that would be illegal.
