You know, all the stuff about the ice packs being the biggest ever and it's never been colder and we're entering an ice age, blah blah...

NASA: Megadroughts to scorch American West for decades - CNN.com

Quote:
There is no precedent in contemporary weather records for the kinds of droughts the country's West will face, if greenhouse gas emissions stay on course, a NASA study said.

No precedent even in the past 1,000 years.

But to hell with them...what do those liberal weenies know? They're only PhD scientists with some of the best scientific educations working for the organization that put a man on the moon. [MOD CUT/flaming]

Bury your heads in the sand! There's nothing to worry about!

Plenty of evidence that the arctic was a tropical region at one time. Antarctica is still 99% unexplored so maybe it was, also. So "record" doesn't mean too much considering nobody was there before a few decades ago.

And so rather than do something to help people cope with climate change liberals want to pass laws to try and stop it. Maybe instead of wasting years on 'carbon credits' you should have been working on an inexpensive desalination process, but no liberals would rather spend their time trying to control people to stop the unstoppable.

Wow...this is amazing....let me try and compare this:

And so rather than do something to help people cope with lung cancer liberals want to pass laws to try and stop it. Maybe instead of wasting years on 'stop smoking campaigns' you should have been working on an inexpensive lung replacement process, but no liberals would rather spend their time trying to control people to stop the unstoppable.

Wait...I thought we couldn't use short-term weather to make claims about long-term climate?

It is not really a case of either/or, how about both? However to have this sort of nuanced discussion with folks who put their fingers in their ears and deny the basic physics.

Oh look, we can take a quote from someone quoting a small minority of scientists....and make it sound like that was the prediction.

Actually the reality is that most scientists estimate a 2030-2060 time frame for it. I would suggest you dont try and take your understanding of science from those who aren't actually reputable scientists. And look at what the general consensus is instead of spouting nonsense like this.
