Meh, shes a black mom lol. I was afraid of my mom for this exact reason I knew the consequences I would face if I dissappointed her. My mom was scarier than my dad in that regard. So not a hero to me but I don't think she was wrong either lol.
My parents kicked my a$$ for far less than what he was doing.
Hopefully one day he will grow up to realize how right she was and won't be afraid of getting DSS called on him for disciplining his own kids when they need a swift kick in th a$$.
When you think about it though, isn't there a bit of a double standard? If you saw a video like this, without any riots surrounding it, where a mother was hitting her child (even if he's a teenager like this one clearly is), how many of you would cry child abuse?
I personally think she should be given a medal for trying to keep her kid in line. I think all black mothers need to be out there smacking the hell out of their kids who are participating in this.
nope. no double standard.
if I put my kid in timeout and you don't know why then im a mean parent.
if I put my kid in timeout after he did something really terrible to your kid, I suspect you would think me a bad parent that doesn't really do my job (rightly so too)
A parents reaction has to be in proportion to the action of the kid. in this case beating him about the head and shoulders for putting himself in a position to get himself killed is pretty much the right thing to do.
