“I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage!” the woman cried. “If I help him, he's going help me"

Facing a major fiscal crisis, the city of Detroit – specifically one councilwoman – thinks that President Obama should bail them out.

“Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that,” said Watson.

Divide and conquer. The low-hanging fruit (cell phones, gas, really???) is what the money powers WANT you to focus on - and meanwhile they pick your pockets.

Clearly, some have taken the bait and have fallen for it, hook, line and sinker.

So you advocate socialism.

Hint, the rich already pay the majority of the taxes while the poor pay none.
People were plenty successful back when the tax rates were significantly higher for higher earners, in the post-war period. People paid high taxes, and still lived well. That's not "punishing success." And it wasn't socialism, was it? No, it wasn't.

52% of Americans don't even want to raise taxes to the post-war level. They want to raise them to a level that will allow gov't to function adequately, infrastructure to be repaired, expanded and improved, more medical and science research to be done, etc.

The rich skate, as it currently stands. Senators and the POTUS pay less in taxes than their own staff. That's a crime. They don't pay the majority of taxes.

I really don't see why this is such a big deal. The high earners have become spoiled, that's all.

This is exactly right.

Exactly... they pick your pockets. The point you want to IGNORE is that these people thought that Obama was going to play robin hood.

^^^ Another one who doesn't know the difference between high income and rich. Senators and Potus are multi-millionaires, the last time I looked he is worth net worth of $7 million...438% more wealthy than when he first ran for office.

So in your mind people making high income are automatically at their levels of wealth. The stupidity of the left is unfreakin believable. It's probably why they struggle, just can't get it and will never be high income let alone ever be rich.

As Gruber said... "the stupidity of the American voter" and "the lack of financial understanding of Americans"

How does this refute anything I said?

I'm talking about the taxes he pays on his income adding up to less than the tax his staff, making a fraction of what he makes, pay on their income.

people making high income are automatically at their levels of wealth

What does this ^^ even mean? I don't think you understood the post.

In 65 pages has anyone who supports high taxes on the rich actually put out a number? How much would be adequate 50% 70% 90%?

And how exactly is that money going to lift people out of poverty?
