Bush Admits ‘Majority’ of 9/11 Hijackers Were Saudis*Pensito Review
If you don't like Saudi Arabia now, how much better will you like them when they have nuclear weapons?

Make no mistake, the more feckless the US appears to the Saudis and other Arab nations, the more they are going to feel that they need to be responsible for their own defense. They can't go to another power like Russia or China as those guys are already backing Iran so the only solution they will have left is to protect themselves. Once pursued this course will lead rather quickly to an Arab nuclear capacity in Saudi Arabia, as the Arabs despise and fear the Persians, and they also know the Persians have historically kicked their butts pretty much every time they have fought. They may beef up their conventional armies, but they will see a nuclear weapon as their only real defense. Even if no Americans are directly involved, is it wise to gleefully skip down the path leading to nuclear war in the Middle East while doing absolutely nothing to try avoiding it?

Pick a side, any side; now put it back in the deck.

Obama alienates our eternal friends the Saudi's.

Given the Saudis' history of funding radical madrassahs, terrorism, and the radical form of Islam that permeates their country wouldn't 'infernal' be a better descriptor of this alleged friendship?

Well, just because Canada isn't intense, doesn't mean that they're not our eternal friends.

Yes they are. Ever heard the KKMC facility? We train their military. We only do that with allies. We sell them military hardware. We only do that with allies.

Your idiot hero has essentially wrecked our foreign policy because he is too busy with his social engineering projects and allowing his big assed wife to spew her hatred.

Umm, no. There is such a thing as realpolitik, and the US has been practicing it since the early 70s.

And be sure you understand the difference between "ally" and "friend." Allies are for the moment--they come and go.

When I was active duty, I had a quip about how to tell if a country is a friend of the US: When a soldier can get into a bar fight with a local and it's neither newsworthy nor does it turn into a diplomatic incident, that country is a friend.

Only an idiot would get in a bar fight in a foreign country. My brother was on float with the FMC in the Med and they stopped in Marseilles. His platoon got in a bar fight with the Foreign Legion and the Legion thoroughly kicked their asses and had them run down the street out of uniform which the Legion kept, the ultimate insult.

Don't act like an ass in someone elses country and you will be treated with dignity as I was in Oman and the UAE. Obama has been acting the ass in that region.

You missed that point. It had nothing to do with the soldier who got into the fight.

The Saudi's and the rest of the Gulf States are understandably upset by these developments. The king is showing his displeasure by missing the talks. Way to go Mr. President, we may have just lost another ally to your failed foreign policy.

I believe 4 of the 6 leaders Obama invited are NOT coming.
