This all happened a decade ago when he was a teen. The family placed him in a treatment program, and all of his siblings confirm there have been no incidents since, and that they felt safe.
Seems to be a reach to attack a family for the sins of one YOUNG son years ago. Besides, I thought progressive liberals had no issue with incest.
If anyone needed God, it would certainly be a young man with such a sexual proclivity.
He got help, has had no more incidents for over a decade... yet here is mainscream dragging it up so many years later. It's more wet ammunition being used against the religious right to satisfy the useful idiots of the world.
There was no treatment program according to the mother. It was working construction with a friends business.

What he did seems inexcusable but no one filed any charges and seems like treatment and counseling solved the issue.
Except the "counseling" turned out to be working a summer for a family friend. No one filed charges? Of course not, because the adults involved hushed it up.

Inappropriate touching is what molestation is. Molestation doesn't mean the the assaulter is an adult and the victim is a child. This is what media does. It creates false definitions. Anyone of any age can be molested by anyone of any age. An 8 year old can molest an 8 year old. Obviously, I wouldn't support treating an 8 year old molester the same as I would expect a 50 year old molester to be treated, but it's wrong either way.
They are no longer allegations. He did them, he just can't be convicted because of a statue of limitations.
I do not believe he is still a child molester, if it interests you. He did this as a teenager; they're hormonal and may do some things they regret. I don't really believe he is a pedophile or still having the desire to touch young girls. I'm glad he admitted to it and it owning up to it (take not, Bill Cosby), but what I'm struggling with is how he can still say such cruel things about homosexuals when he himself acted in a way that is sexually wrong and objectively worse than having consensual sex with the same sex.

It was 5 different girls. this happened while the girls were sleeping. How many girls do you think that the uber supervised teen had access to while they were sleeping?
The report even says "the alleged victims (names redacted) who live with their parents Michelle and Jim Bob".

I would start at page 11 (the first pages are just administrative stuff). It is clear that he molested 5 girls, including 4 of his sisters, between 2002 and 2003. His sisters were 4, 8, 9, 10 and 12 when the abuse occurred and he was 14 - 16 over this period of time. His parents knew about 3 of the incidents, but did not report it nor remove him from his victims. There are some articles claiming that the family waited a year before reporting him, but that's not true. The family NEVER reported him. They told church officials (who are mandatory reporters - they should have gone to the police) and had a family friend who happened to be a cop come speak to him "sternly." That cop is now in jail for 56 years on child pornography charges - and with a sentence like that, I imagine he was likely MAKING the porn.
It was not until 2006, after the statute of limitations was up, that this was reported to the police. And that is only because someone tipped off the Oprah Show before their spot aired and the show forwarded the allegation to the local police. It has been speculated that one of the girls hid a letter in a book that she loaned to a church friend, and the friend then reported it to the police (as all reasonable people, except for the Duggars, would do).
The parents NEVER went to the police, despite multiple occurrences including the molestation of a child who was entrusted in the care of the Duggars. They never sought treatment for Josh except, by their own admission, sending him to a family friend for a summer of labor. He went right back to living with the girls he fondled and fingered in their sleep, with many signs pointing to abuse of the youngest who was only 4 or 5 at the time.
These people are scumbags who continued on with their TV show despite serious issues at home. They have showed their family, and now the world, that their reputation and their son is more important than the safety of their daughters.
The girls have been pretty isolated their entire lives, with the exception of the two who have recently got married. I worry that there is more abuse that never came out because it was something that was not discussed in their home. The parents clearly didn't care to protect the daughters, so why would the daughters think their parents would do anything if the abuse continued?
