I saw an interview, during which a transgender person said that people claiming to be "transracial" are an offense to transgender people.

Admittedly, I feel that transgender people suffer from psychological problems--and I sympathize with that. I just don't feel that people are born the wrong gender. (Those w/ biological abnormalities have different issues.)

Having said that, if you truly believe people are born the wrong gender, why can't they be born the wrong race? I don't understand the transracial outrage from the transgender community. Maybe the interview was just one lone voice?

I don't have a link to the interview, but here are different perspectives:

I think both are ****ed up. You know, growing up, we were always taught to embrace the skin and body in which we were born, be it with handicaps or not. Now in this PC world, it's suddenly normal to decide you weren't born in the right body. WTF?

I will go with this^^^

Like a person said this morning, we are born chicks and dudes and your skin color is what it is.

Why are people so preoccupied with skin-color and gender identity?

It's like people can't find enough stuff to confuse them, they make something up!

So if every rich white kid who acts like a wigger an African American too?

Enough is enough. Transgendered people should be mad that this transracial circus is actually being considered as a real thing.

Maybe the transracial people should be mad at the transgendered people for hogging the spotlight ala Bruce Genner

There may be a biological basis for someone strongly identifying themselves as being the opposite gender. A transgendered person usually becomes aware of their preferences for the opposite sex in childhood. Rachel Dolezal may like black people and get along well with them but there is no biological basis for her to claim to an African American heritage other than the "we're all from Africa" meme. Her fraud was calculated and deliberate. So, no, it's not "logical".

As long as white people who 'identify as black' get the same handicap on SATs, count towards affirmative action action quotes, etc I could not give a **** less.

Blacks will change their tune real quick if that happens.

I'm feeling like a Native American today, think I'll claim that on my next job application.
Hey it worked for Elizabeth Warren

Yes. And just as logical as trans-species, trans-planetary and trans-solar system.

These people are mentally ill and should be confined for their own good.

We accepted the transgenders and even made laws for them..all those bathroom laws folks.
Did people think it would stop there ?

Now we have transrace. Yes, society should afford them the same protections as they do transgenders.

It's laughable that the transgenders want to keep anything "trans" to themselves.
