The Inquisitor seems to be perplexed as to why this video has been causing a storm. The backlash was swift and heavy.

“Happy Father’s Day, Mom!” Angel Soft has made several enemies with those four simple, seemingly harmless words.
Why are the naysayers so upset about the ad? Because they feel like it devalues the role that fathers play in the development of their children.
And to an extent, you may be able to see their point.
While no one can deny that mothers are integral to the growth and development of a child and that many more men than women neglect their parental duties, the idea behind celebrating Father’s Day is to celebrate the men who do show up.
I don't like it because I think that fathers, by definition, are MALE. However, I do "get" what they are saying -- that sometimes parents (not just moms!) play the role of mother and father.
However, there have always been more kinds of moms than the stereotypical "baking cookies, cleaning the house, and making Halloween costumes" type, just as there have always been dads who have done a lot more than just bringing home a paycheck, mowing the lawn, and being the king of the grill. In other words, I think this ad is making a big deal out of something that never been all that unusual.
But am I outraged by it? Absolutely not. If I had just seen it on television and did not know that others were outraged by it, I probably would have just thought, "Well, that was a waste of my time" and just let it go.

Those were my initial thoughts and I understand that. But to do this for Father's Day? Ridiculous and highly disrespectful. Imagine if the tables were turned and they aired a similar commercial with similar stories with "Happy Mother's Day, Dad!". The feminist would have a field day. I'm tired of this double standard and demonizing of fathers and men in general.
Father's Day is for fathers, mother's day is for mothers. I'm tired of this PC garbage. Yes there are patents who are the only parent but doesn't mean they celebrate both days. It's unpc to say, but a child needs both parents when that is denied through selfishness (meaning dad didn't stick around and mom chose to be the only parent) the child suffers. Not talking situations like a parent died or someone chose to adopt as a single parent. This issue is why we have the problems we do.
