I believe he's also made disparaging remarks against Christianity yet he was applauded by liberal media and audiences for that. When doing the same thing against Islam, he gets called a bigot/racist/whatever by the same folks. I'm not sure if I call that "liberal" if I'm honest.

While I don't agree with Maher on a lot of things, I've come to think he's probably more honest and maybe more coherent about his views than other "liberals".

Oh come on. Besides his show, which is full of political topics he constantly appears giving his political opinions on other programs.

Using the he is a comedian bit is a joke in and of itself. Sort of like the people who love the political points of Jon Stewart, but defend his blatant lies with hey he is a comedian!
