California has around 40 million people so a LOT of teachers. All these teachers are forced to pay union dues which the unions use to insure that Democrats are elected. The Democrat party has destroyed California. Democrats are always howling about citizens united ruling but the unions contribute much more to Democrats than any buisness contributes to Republicans.

Yes there are. I will have to read it all later. But my experience with unions both public and private.....is that they look out for their employees. They negotiate the best pay and benefits that they can. My sister is a stead fast republican but also a teacher. She loves being part of a union because they look out for her. She gladly pays dues.

I don't know how I feel about public unions and teacher's unions. But see that's what a lot of people don't consider is you can be conservative and pro-union. I wished Republicans would come out pro-union and scoop up all that money and support from union members. I understand it's against many of conservatives principles. But I'm pro working and middle class, and see unions as a private and local as opposed to government solution to employee/employer relations.

Explain how Democrats have destroyed California when California enjoyed its first budget surplus in quite some time after kicking out Republicans and Democrats gaining a super majority, the Bay Area tech economy on a red-hot streak, etc..

.
If I was in charge I'd set non union wages 2% higher than union wages.

It is the unions that have excelerated inflation in this country ,and their quality of work is no better than the private sector.
So far as safety issues the government has agencies in place to see to certain standards are met as well as minimum wage laws .
I have had to pay union dues and got nothing in return , thank you very much , it's a fraud.
Irrisponsible people over extend tem selves financially and demand more wages to match their incompitence and they get it , driving the price of what they produce up , so the rest of the country is jacking up to compensate for them and it becomes a constant jacking up one side over the other I could see it as a kid and it's held true 60 years but the greed of these people will never be saisfied till the dollar is in the toilet .
And we are about there.
