There are many people posing as physicians who account for a large percentage of the medicare fraud, many of them immigrant leeches. They set up fronts, submit the claims, collect the claims from the federal government, then move on to another front. This kind of thing doesn't happen in Germany.

Stop with the OFA-funded propaganda.

Stop with the OFA-funded propaganda.
People pose as MDs to defraud Medicare.

MDs defraud Medicare.

Some are immigrants and some are not.

Google Germany healthcare fraud.

If you can do so in German you will see more.

U.S. has 4 x the population of Germany. I suspect we have 4x the number of fraudsters.

$18-$60 billion dollars on top of the estimated $65 billion in improper payments. So as much as $120 billion or so dollars a year.

$120 billion dollars. Madoff went to prison over how much?

Yeah, let's give the government even more money to dole out to fraudsters.

Only because the leftist policy accepted a compromise of not offering public option, because that is what the righties were crying about.

IF you prefer to move away from profiting of private insurers, start supporting an amendment to the law to allow public option, or go medicare for all.

Or, did I catch a hypocrite here?

Exactly.

Thank you every insurance company who has a Republican CEO. In other words:

"Thank you ALL for-profit insurance companies!"

Yep, thanks to the Democrats for the bill that ensures profits for the private healthcare companies by forced purchasing from every American. Obamacare- passed without a single Republican vote.

2005 was the peak year for healthcare insurer profits as a percentage of premiums- 7%. This rate of profit was beat by 21 other industries.

Several million previously uninsured Americans now have coverage because of Obamacare, but it could be argued that the people who have benefited most from the law—at least financially—are the top executives and shareholders of the country’s health insurance companies.

Among those who apparently have not yet benefited much at all, at least so far, are owners of small businesses who would like to keep offering coverage to their employees but can no longer afford it. They can’t afford it because insurers keep jacking their rates up so high every year that more and more of them are dropping employee health benefits altogether.

And let’s be clear, these insurers aren’t suffering. UnitedHealth Group, the largest health insurer, reported last week that it made $10.3 billion in profits in 2014 on revenues of $130.5 billion. Both profits and revenues grew seven percent from 2013.

I believe that is almost 8% (and rising)

Big rate increases. That was your jobs, Bozos. Meanwhile, another misguided concern of the ACA-championing progressive left falls--that of "preventive medicine":

"Overtesting has also created a new, unanticipated problem: overdiagnosis. This isn't misdiagnosis--the erroneous diagnosis of a disease. This is the correct diagnosis of a disease that is never going to bother you in your lifetime. We've long assumed that if we screen a healthy population for diseases like cancer or coronary-artery disease, and catch those diseases early, we'll be able to treat them before they get dangerously advanced, and save lives in large numbers. But it hasn't turned out that way. For instance, cancer screening with mammography, ultrasound, and blood testing has dramatically increased the detection of breast, thyroid, and prostate cancer during the past quarter century. We're treating hundreds of thousands more people each year for these diseases than we ever have. Yet only a tiny reduction in death, if any, has resulted."

America
Well Einstein? What did you think would happen when you all of a sudden dump millions of Un -Insured Americans with health problems into the system?
