The 'poor' are going to have that much harder a time purchasing big lots and Timberlands and straight hair wigs and mylar Tweety Bird balloons if they have to stand in long lines for half of each day to buy rationed meat and bread loaves at a state GUM department store.
The Catholic Church has long supported a system that doesn't include the gross income inequities we have today. Communism was tried and failed everywhere as an economic model. Do I guess we would have to implement some type of socialistic capitalism to meet the Pope's wishes.
The Pope has every right to express his views as they are rooted in the bible and teachings of Jesus. I don't think an alternative to Capitalism has been found that would yield the results he wants because Capitalism is rooted in the Natural Law....reap what you sow.
Gee, should we also watch out for the Speaker of the House who invited this Pope to address Congress and also claims to have conversations with the Lord?*

It must be contagious didn't Hillary once say she had conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt and Mahatma Gandhi.
Christianity is incompatible with capitalism. Anyone who reads the New Testament objectively can see that.
Of course we don't have true capitalism anymore as Adam Smith envisioned it (many, smaller, competing businesses with none given an advantage by the government), but rather corporatism (fewer, larger businesses in bed with government).
The bible is just a book, and the qaran is a just a book... I don't care what the pope has to say. If he honestly practiced what he preached, then we would sell the assets of the Vatican which are valued in the BILLIONS (with a Carl Sagan B). The truth is, capitalism is the most efficient economic system the world is aware of to uplift people from poverty.
Ohhh the horror of a Pope who cares about the poor.
Sheesh people, do you even read the cartoon evil levels that your posts are at?
