For the first time in my life,I'm ashamed of my Pope. He says and does nothing to protect the unborn, marriage or traditional values. Yet has plenty to say about redistribution and "climate change". An awful choice. Worst since the Borgia Popes.
Nor is worshiping at the god of money and wealth exactly a great thing either. Least if you believe in the bible.
Personally I don't, I think inequality is a bad idea for a lot of other reasons. But watching the truly insane responses to the pope is fascinating. People who actually claim they DO believe in the bible, are literally repudiating it because of their love of wealth and money. Its interesting to watch.
This thread proves to me that the demographics of this forum are not reflective of America as a whole. At all.
Quote:
In a Pew Research Center survey conducted last month, Pope Francis enjoyed a 90% favorability rating among U.S. Catholics. In addition, Francis now is rated favorably by 70% of all Americans, up from 57% in March 2013.
Francis is popular even among those without a religious affiliation. Fully two-thirds of religious “nones” (68%) in the most recent Pew Research poll say they view the current pontiff favorably, up from just 39% in March 2013.
Francis also is liked by American Protestants. According to the most recent Pew Research poll, 74% of white mainline Protestants and 60% of white evangelical Protestants say they view him favorably.
He's going to really set the church back, at least in the US.
Maybe he doesn't care if he can rally more converts in the third world with this kind of talk.
