So here's the solution if the law is really the right thing to do:

1. Pass the law.
2. Let it get vetoed.
3. Override the veto.

That's the way this government is supposed to work.

Did any of you raging people bother to read that? Or do you eat right out of Fringe Media's hand?

Establishing Mandatory Minimums for Illegal Reentry Act of 2015 or Kate's Law

This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to increase penalties applicable to aliens who unlawfully reenter the United States after being removed.
Please explain.

This is gotcha legislation just like the various fair pay acts and so forth.

You throw in enough stuff that the other party won't agree to and then say "AH HA! You won't protect us from violent repeat criminals or you hate women and won't pay them fairly."

Most legislation is never designed to pass, just to grandstand.

We can already see the start of the repercussions of someone like Obama saying he doesn't have to abide by laws he doesn't like. Others are starting to do the same and in the end that is only going to be a real headache for the control freaks like Obama.
What does Obama have to do with any of this seeing as these Sanctuary cities existed before he took office ?

President Obama also never said he wouldnt follow laws.

Except that you won't get past step 1 here. No way the Republicans would get 60 votes for cloture. Never mind the veto.

Obama will notsupport Kates Law.

Because it's worthless.

4 pages of rants -- seems most didn't bother w/ due diligence.

The bigger problem, however, is that the Hunter bill does not in any way address the largest sanctuary jurisdiction of all: the Federal government.
Sanctuary states, cities, and counties release thousands of convicted criminal aliens each year, but the Department of Homeland Security
releases tens of thousands of convicted criminal aliens each year. Grant Ronnebeck, murdered by a convicted criminal alien in an Arizona
convenience store, is no less a victim of sanctuary policies than Kate Steinle just because his killer was released by the Department of Homeland Security.

What he has to do with it is they are only sanctuary cities because he is largely refusing to enforce our laws. I for one do not blame the cities. Money is tight and they are saying that they are not going to go to the expense of arresting someone, holding them and turning them over to the Fed's only to have the Fed's release them.

I don't blame them.

U.S. will stop deporting some illegal immigrants who came here as children - The Washington Post

That isn't what the laws says.

This entire situation is just disgusting. And liberals like Obama and Pelosi manage to make it worse. Unbelievable. Obama will call a birth control activist because she was called a name but not the family of a woman murdered partially due to practices he believes in are taking place. Obama shows his true colors in times like these. He won't make any effort to save lives by enforcing current law or by getting rid of this idiotic sanctuary city insanity. Obama is a scum bag and a horrible human being as is that evil pig Pelosi.

I can only hope if anyone else has to be murdered or sexually assaulted by an illegal, that it will be someone very close to Obama or Pelosi and others in power that think like them. Maybe then things would change, but then again probably not. These evil people would probably still push their agenda than care enough about their own family or friends to do what's right.
You folks are a piece of work. You moan and cry when the Feds make rules and say it should be up to the States and the people that live in it, to make the rules, but then when those State made rules and policies aren't to your liking. you moan and cry because the Feds won't make the rules to counter the State rules. Which is it? You can't have it both ways. Obama did not make Sanctuary cities. The States did, or the Cities where allowed to by the State. Its not an Obama concern. You like having a Republican Majority, then go ask them why they haven't done anything. I don't hear a thing from all those GOP Candidates about supporting this "Kates" Law, do you? Name me those who are coming out in support. SO far, Trump is the only voice I hear.

Remember the 2006 secure fence act? It is unfinished! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Fence_Act_of_2006
The excuses not to finish it are ridiculous.
