Given the two debates in close succession, it will be useful to compare/contrast...................many things.

The countdown has begun.

DEBATE DASHBOARD - 8 DAYS to Cleveland! Fox News is opening its 5 p.m. undercard debate to all announced GOP candidates who fail to make the cut for the Aug. 6 prime-time event, removing a requirement that participants reach at least 1 percent in polling. The change amounts to an insurance policy for candidates who were in danger of being disqualified from the vital first debate based on low polls - Carly Fiorina, George Pataki and Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, Chris Wallace - good, solid moderators, all three.

No, not 15 months away, Iowa and New Hampshire vote in early February, just over 6 months away. There's nothing unusual about the timing of the debates. They're for the Primaries, not General.

Check your math. February and March are not 15 months away.

It seems like these 'debates' will serve little purpose, since the times are so short, with 10 Republicans on stage for the 90 minute one. I guess it will show whom is more assertive in talking over the others.

I think they will be great! Only problem is, I heard Trump bought up all the popcorn supplies in the Country...

I like them all. am glad they will be doing the debates. All are exellent when it comes to debates, but I am not sure I would call them all moderates: Chris for sure: probably the best interviewer on TV right now and very middle of the road. He is a registered Democrat btw: I don't really consider Megyn moderate. As for Bret I really don't watch him often. His regular show comes on at a bad time for us, not to mention we love the 5 and always watch O'Rielly and usually Megyn. We can take only so much politics in one day. We usually catch some CNN as well.

I am very anxios to see the debates. It is fair to have the lesser known or popular candidates being heard as well.

I think it's because Hillary, who has been asked, won't come on. On the other hand, Bernie Sanders has done O'Reilly a few times and O'Reilly has called him a stand-up guy, if I remember correctly. He was on this month.

Fox News has been reaping the benefits (ratings-wise) of the luxury of having so many candidates to choose from for appearances on their shows. I think the candidates are eager to do Fox News because 1) of the first debate; 2) potential GOP primary voters watch Fox News and 3) they don't have to use any campaign cash for the free publicity.

With regard to the Fox News debate, I think the moderators won't be as big of a problem as the so-called analysts ("so-called" because they've been wrong about every prediction about the 2016 Election to-date) who will appear after the show and spin the results that you apparently heard and saw with your own lying eyes and ears.

Nope.

Obviously you don't know how to read that daily Nielson report. It posts the demos (age groups) for all the networks. If anything, FNC is in much better shape in this regard than all the others. In fact MSNBC according to your theory should disappear from the face of the earth.

On the other hand, all cable TV is going the way of the land line phone. In 10 years most people will be watching TV via OTA Broadcast and Internet broadband. And if you look at those Net ratings, FNC is in far better shape too.
