Pretty interesting - if not surprising - development sure to stir up controversy.
So much for all those silly claims that Obama was now a "Lame Duck". He seems determined to move forward on everything he can during the time he has left.
Good for him.

"Travel to Cuba could soon be nearly as easy as travel to any other part of the world.

The Obama administration plans to unilaterally ease the travel restrictions to Cuba, sources told ABC News.

The new measures would bypass limits on travel imposed by Congress by changing regulations at the executive level.

Talks are already underway between the Federal Aviation Administration and Cuban aviation authorities to resume regularly scheduled non-charter or commercial flights between the two countries.

And ABC News has learned that the Treasury Department is now considering new regulations that would allow all Americans to travel to Cuba as individuals and not in tour groups or with other third-party arrangers...."

It's about time!

I never understood why we continued to shun Cuba and hopped into bed with Communist China.

(yes, I remember the Cuban missile crisis; Bay of Pigs, etc. from the late 50s)

In Miami, Rubio and the old Cuban exiles are having fits. Everyone else thinks it is great.

They don't seem aware that many other western and Asian countries have been investing in, and visiting, Cuba for years.

Our embargo was idiotic and really only punished anyone in the US who wanted to travel to Cuba, and Cubans who want to see their families.

Since I'm not old enough to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, the whole Cuban thing is just whatever. That happened in 1962.

Yup, that's EXACTLY right. The embargo is unnecessary and quite frankly pointless today.

It's good to be KING ..... and when you are arrested and held for ransom, he will ignore you just as he has those under arrest in Cuba, North Korea and Iran.

So tell us EXACTLY how the embargo has in any way, shape or form helped any Americans held in Cuba.

Don't commit a crime when in a foreign country and you won't get arrested. Pretty simple don't you think.
