Any attempt to keep money out of politics is an interdiction scheme. We know from the war on drugs (and alcohol prohibition last century) what happens in interdiction schemes. The traffic just moves underground.

The one way to win the war on drugs would be to persuade people to stop taking drugs, i.e. to eliminate the demand. Similarly the way to end influence peddling would be to cut, or at least drastically reduce the levels of power in Washington DC. Return to a libertarian, limited form of government that we had in the 19th and early 20th centuries

It is about you, not money.

Which is ONLY possible because you left wing kooks want government involved with everything in our lives.

What is their money getting them right now?
Money influences elections to a significant degree. Its can't save someone from trying to elect a incredibly bad choice. But you can get pretty bad and win.

As for how it worked for them....well they live in Kansas. Looks who runs that state, and whats occured. Its worked REALLY REALLY well. They didnt get the presidency last time, but they got a ton of stuff they did want.

2011 they were worth 25 billion each. Today? 50 billion each. Sooo....its worked out pretty darn well.

Bernie is getting a good bit of coverage. Most of it positive unlike Ms Moneybags that has most of the stories about her going negative. How is it that money isn't changing this?
Money is at the heart of the Clinton machine. Why on earth do you think she has been one of the most powerful women in America for decades?

Bernie Sanders has been a US senator for decades, and the first time he was invited to "Meet the press" was a brief visit last year.

No its not. This legalized bribery is rampant at all levels of government, not just the federal branch. It is government by organized money, not by the people. For-profit prison systems earn a profit by locking up as many Americans as possible and they are constantly trying to increase their profits by gunning for more prisoners. If they dont fill the lock-up quota, you have to pay taxes to cover it anyway. And if you think you can just be a lone ranger, trying to fight this system alone without the help of honest politicians that want money out of politics, you are deluded.

Of course it is.. And the left wing answer is more government, thereby encouraging even MORE money at the heart of politics..

Do you REALLY think Bernie Sanders is above "selling" influence? Things like "free" college, comes at a cost..
