LOL! So you are proposing that those weapons were given to them by the US and not taken/captured from Iraqi forces that were armed by the US? Is that kinda like when the Taliban used Russian weapons (AK-47's) against Soviet forces? Of course, the Soviets didn't give them those weapons. They were captured. Same with your photo. It happens when nations start meddling in other nations affairs. Face it, everything you can accuse the USA of, Russia has done it too. We are both pots calling the kettles black.
The market for AK-47s is awash with these guns in the 3rd World (especially after China started making they for a fraction of the price of those that come from Mikhail Kalashnikovs gun making enterprise). What the Afgani's were taking from Soviet troops was the modernized AK-74s that were manufactured in the 1970s. These guns have IR night vision scopes and have other advanced features just like guns used by NATO and the USA.

Russia invaded Afghanistan too. How well did that turn out?
Actually, the Russians were kicking serious ass in Afghanistan up until the Americans sold stinger missiles to the Mujahidin. Great idea, that.
The one thing that the Russians have over NATO in dealing with fanatical nutjobbers such as ISIS is that Putin only cares about winning and not about how Russia may look to the rest of the world. America and its allies won't engage in certain types of warfare that may make them look bad and/or bring about worldwide condemnation for their actions. Russia couldn't care less what anyone thinks as long as their military campaign is successful.
That is the fundamental difference between a country run by a democratically elected leader who care about his image and legacy, and one run by a maniacal ex-KGB thug who cares about nothing but power.
