If Latin America was Muslim and millions were dying would we (should we) let millions of refugees into America? (Iraq, middle east)

What is geography were different and Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan were right next to America and at our southern Border were a million Muslims who wanted to escape the death and destruction and come to America. What if there were hundreds of thousands waiting to cross our border to escape the killing with potentially ten million more ready to come. What would America do? What should American do? What would you like us to do?

Many would be good people who just want a better safer life, but most would not speak English, and would struggle in America with no identifiable skills so would need welfare and would be going to school with your kids, and others would be Islamic radials who would try to change America to be Islamic.

Your thoughts? (What if what is happening to Europe today was happening in America?)

Yes but the number of potential refugees who want to escape Africa and the Middle East could be more than 10 million. Do we plan to let that many come to America without any process?

It would initially start with a lot of muslims trying to get to America, and the politicans would ignore the issue, or claim it will be benefical to the US economy. However, as muslims cause a lot more trouble than Mexicans, then it will lead to a massive political backlash. A lot more money will be invested into border security, and they might do like Australia, and send asylum seekers to a third country.

Also, it is important to note, that muslims are not like Mexicans. They are not willing to do hard work for little pay, and hence US will be a less attractive destination. What makes europe an attractive destination for muslims, is that the government has a duty to find them a place to live and give them enough money to enjoy themselves. Funny enough, they have no such duty for their own citizens.

Thank God for the Atlantic Ocean separating us from the Middle East and Africa. Without it, we would be screwed like the Europeans are.

In that situation US can get a lot more than 10 million muslims.

There is about 500 million muslims in the regions around europe, their population is increasing by 10 million a year, and 23% desire to move permanently away.

Europe is only getting a couple million a year, but over time it will be a lot more than 10 million muslims.

When we changed the law in 1965 we would have started to let them in and instead of being 1% Muslim America would have reached that state where it was another conflict zone with Islam with active cells and not lone wolfs

The US has already resettled roughly 1500 Syrian refugees this year, with plans to accept more next year.

It's still nothing compared to the 800,000 Syrian refugees Germany has agreed to accept this year. I'm both awed by Germany's generosity and baffled by its naiveté. Other European countries are not as generous; UK, for example, only resettled 216 Syrian refugees thus far and capping themselves at 1000.
