What a sweet deal for the private system!! They do not have to provide coverage for the elderly, the ones that get sick.
Democrats forced every American to help pay the profits of private health insurance companies or be forced to pay a fine. Not sure why you are railing at Republicans. The Dems climbed firmly into bed with private insurance companies and voters like you tucked them in.

United didn't earn $130 billion. Revenues were $130 billion.

The reality is in Texas(run and controlled by the GOP) where corps. run the hospitals and where the least amount of covered people live. Where Medical costs are higher then the rest of the country. This is part of Perry's legacy. The part which would have killed him if he made it past Trump.

Of course it is insolvent!! Any insurance health insurance that only covers the elderly will not make money.

From an actuary point of view it is suicidal to only insure OLD SICK people.

In the mean time private Health Plans insure the young and make billions in profit.

If these young people were in the Medicare pool Medicare would also make money.

Young people use very few medical resources. The bulk of the expense is for the elderly.

In most countries, health care expenses come to more than $2,000 per person each year. In the case of the 10 countries with the highest costs, expenses are roughly twice that. In the U.S., spending on health care per capita comes to nearly $8,000 per person.

I want government out of my health care.

My health care is between me and my insurer and not the government.

I am especially against government health care which punishes me because I can pay my premiums and make me pay for others health care. I am not my brothers keeper.

Thus, I have gone uninsured. The fine is cheaper and my health care costs have gone down since I pay my doctor in cash.

Who would not pay that salary? After all he made 130.5 billion dollars for the company.
The majority of that compensation was in the gains of the stock he owns. Between his base salary and bones, he made about $5M. It's good for a CEO to be invested in the company he/she runs. That's incentive for them to make money for the shareholders.

Dems and their constituents would bankrupt a single payer system with fraud at its inception.

Can you afford the 10K a month some cancer patients have to pay because the drug is not covered by insurance?

Why do you defend crony capitalism? Are you a CEO in one of these companies?

Demands have not caused bankruptcy of the private companies, If anything they make astronomical profit by transferring money out of the pockets of patients to their coffers. And they do not provide any healthcare! All they do is handle the money!
