You might want to put up a link or elaborate. Most people won't know what the Battle of Athens is all about. Great story.

Now these armed vets would be labeled terrorists and dealt with harshly. The second amendment does you no good when the corrupted media quickly turns public opinion against heroes such as that. I mean the media on the right and the left because they are all full of it.

Sinclair Lewis said that "When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross". How many of you right wing types would be willing to assert your second amendment rights against that type of propaganda.

About 2M people died in gun violence since that famous battle in 1946, I guess it was worth it. When do you think the next one will come up, 2050, 2121 stay vigilant.

And multiple times more than that died while being unarmed and living under oppressive governments since then. Stay vigilant.

The thing is, more and more people on both sides of the political spectrum are learning to view what comes from the MSM as bullcrap these days. IMO, there sway isn't what it was even 5 years ago. Social media and the internet are telling different stories than the MSM. Sometimes for better, sometimes worse. But enough that people are realizing that there are 2 sides to most stories. I'm not sure our government could get away with a Ruby Ridge or Waco massacre anymore.

Mmmm...yea, a Waco or Ruby Ridge , today, would stir the country up far more than it did then. The leftys were wildly cheering both of those incidents, when they happened. Many would still do so, today, but, tolerance of that by the .middle road and right learners would be far less. Blows would fly.

There are a lot more people out there , now, and not even just far right types, who are not on board with government over reach, and people are also fed up with dynasties and entrenched politicians, as well. Clinton's and Bush's come to mind. Local politics, here in my town, have been shook up lately, because of corruption, nepotism, cronyism, and a general feeling that we are being governed by an aristocracy. A lot of smaller towns, nationwide have that problem. Government, at all levels, is out of control.

It hasn't come down to armed confrontation anywhere, for quite a while, but, Ive seen situations where it could have. Maybe should have. A town , not far from us, in an adjacent county, is a PRI.e example of small town, county level, corruption and abuse of office. The place is a nightmare. I lived there, for a couple years, and was never so glad to see a place in my dear view, disappearing, at 20 over the speed limit.

Honestly, the only thing that would turn things around there, is an armed revolt. Most of the people there are to drunk or high to care enough, though. Aided in staying that wah by the Sheriffs Dept. They run the drug trade there. The only ones who vote there are the senior citizens anyway, and there hasn't been an honest ballot count there in decades upon decades.

Would I exercise my 2A rights, righting such wrongs, should the call go out? Yea, I would. Maybe , if some places like the town I mentioned, actually stood up against the wrongs going on, government might straighten up , a bit. It needs to be back slapped , at all levels.

And 100x that many have been saved due to the presence of a firearm since then, and since over half of those 2M were suicides and the large majority of the rest criminals killing other criminals and no loss, so yes it is worth it. So sorry the millions of times firearms have been used without firing a shot don't add to your body count.
