In response to the gouging that big (and little) pharma has been engaging in of late, Clinton came out with a plan today to rein them in and help control prescription costs for Americans, especially those on Medicare. The centerpoint is allowing negotiation of drug prices in Medicare. Republicans, on the other hand, have been silent on the issue preferring to bicker with each other over whether Muslims should be allowed to be President. Here's a summary of her ideas.
Putting caps on a flood doesn't seem like the best approach. Look farther back at the driving force, the money and the profits, and see what can be done there.

Her plan is not caps. It is primarily exposing Pharma to competitive pressures like negotiated prices and allowing Americans to import drugs from other countries.

Medicare Part D was basically written by pharmaceutical lobbyists. The proof of that is that the law actually bans Medicare from negotiating drug prices, the way Medicaid and the VA do. It was a blatant giveaway to big pharma and changes are long overdue.
Eighty-three percent said they favor allowing the federal government to negotiate with drug companies to get a lower price.
WTH? That means that theres 17% of the people polled who said the government shouldn't be able to negotiate for a better price. Who are these people that answer that way? The fact that medicare can't currently is mind boggling.
No complete details on her plan, but so far the ones being stated dont strike me as unreasonable.

ACA does not address drug affordability either. Under Barack Obama's healthcare "reform," the US government is PROHIBITED from negotiating prescription drug prices.
Look it up if you don't believe me. Keyword: Billy Tauzin and Barack Obama backroom deal
Why didn't Hillary address that? Because she would be on the record in opposition of a key component of Big Pharma's reason for supporting Obamacare. She'd also be on the record as opposing Obamacare as written.

She's a crony. You are being bamboozled. AGAIN.
Ignoring of course the reality that the ACA could not have passed if drug companies had gone against it. I agree though that I dont see Clinton resolving it, nor the majority of the Republican candidates.
Trump or Sanders are the only two that might make a serious run at it. As for being bamboozled...LOL...that would also apply to the 90^ of GOP candidates who are exactly the same as Clinton on this.....
