Not in your dreams was it an attempt to expose ignorance, unless it was his and his family's ignorance and agenda.

Default He's just a nice, innocent kid

Understanding the Threat | THREAT-FOCUSED | OPERATIONAL | STRATEGIC CONSULTATION

See the link to Ahmed’s clock half way down the page...

When questioned by police, Mohamed was rude, disrespectful, and - most importantly - failed to tell police about the device or if any other such devices were in the school. The police asked reasonable questions and Mohamed's attitude gave them more, not less, concern. When police told Mohamed about the seriousness of the situation, he taunted them and continued to evade questioning. So police arrested him in accordance with set policy which treats all suspects over the age of 12 in a similar manner

Where did this info come from? It didn't come from anyone involved especially knowing there would possibly soon be lawsuits filed.

He's a minor. No one involved outside of family would legally be able to divulge this information outside of a legal setting.

Just as schools were not evacuated when the remains of a kid's Pop Tart became a toy gun.

Is it the school or Ahmed who could have avoided this?

Are pop tart guns, drawings of guns or hand gestures an overreaction or could be avoided? Non of these items have wires.

I am of the opinion that the whole thing is a scam put on by Ahmed's father and his sister. I doubt this 14 year old kid, took apart a clock, bought a new briefcase, then decided to set the clock inside the briefcase. Just cause. Also how did the parents not notice the thing when they were taking their son to school?

A typical homemade clock:

Ahmed's Clock:

An actual package explosive device:
