Every where on the internet, though I've known about this for quite a while Erick Erickson over at Red State dropped this today I believe, among others.
Walter Jones (R-NC) sent a letter out yesterday asking that any candidates that had any skeletons in their closet to drop out. Today McCarthy is gone. There have been rumors about him before.

According to Washington insiders, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is having an affair with Renee Ellmers (R-NC). McCarthy dropped out of the Speaker race, and may have done so because an unknown insider is circulating a surveillance video on Capitol Hill, of him dining with Ellmers in an intimate setting.

The Mod's source is a letter that doesnt even mention McCarthy. You are just assuming it was about him. And regardless of if it was true that it about him, it doesnt make the rumor true, especially since congressmen have quoted falsehoods many times before.
The GOP should stop being conservative (right wing) and become center to center-right. American politics is based in the center of the political spectrum, this is why the Democrats keep winning at the national level ... not because they are centrist but because they are closest to centrist. The party needs to make peace with a number of issues: gay marriage, abortion, marijuana, immigration, and minorities. Social issues are no longer the big concern like back in the 1980s-2004. The nation has changed enormously on social issues over the past decade. Things like allowing marijuana for LEGITIMATE medical purposes is now widely accepted. Gay marriage is widely accepted. It's time to change and move back to center of politics.
Closest to centrist??? Bwahahahahahahaha..Now THAT'S funny. I didn't know Communism was close to centrist in America.
The leading presidential candidate for the Democrats is... a Socialist.
Bernie Sanders is not the leading candidate, the leading candidate is Hillary Clinton ... a moderate/centrist Democrat.
