Psychologists have discovered it's possible to significantly change a person's beliefs simply by targeting their brain with magnets.
Using what's known as transcranial magnetic stimulation, the researchers were able to temporarily shut down the part of the brain associated with detecting and solving problems.

People who were subjected to this treatment reported that their belief in God dropped by a third following the stimulation, while there was an increase in positive feelings towards immigrants.

The findings, published in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, reveal that people whose brains were targeted by TMS reported 32.8 per cent less belief in God, angels, or heaven. They were also 28.5 per cent more positive in their feelings toward an immigrant who criticised their country.
Views on God and immigration could be changed by using MAGNETS, study claims | Daily Mail Online

I'm sure this will get spread around as much as the fake study saying chocolate makes you lose weight. It will be on Bill Maher soon, if it hasn't been already, I'm sure!

Here's the abstract. The magnets are telling me to wait and see what other evidence emerges.

So, liberals and atheists have the equivalent of rocks in their heads already?

Why would Maher want to publicize a study that says people get more liberal when parts of their brain are shut off?

Because it's funny. Just wait--from the pundits and Internets will emerge many spins on this story.

I can see it now, the Democrats are going to insist on this as part of the curriculum in every public school.

What they really need are powerful magnets installed in every voting booth.

Wonder what would happen if they hooked Atheists and others up to it........will they become believers? Strange it correlated with God and immigration......sounds like a made up plan.
